Cold Temperate

A map showing Canada and Northern Europe The climate in Canada and Northern Europe is Cold Temperate.  

Thermometers showing the range -20°C to 20°C

In January the temperature is between -20°C and 0°C.  

In July the temperature is between 10°C and 20°C.

Mount Everest

This is Mount Everest.  It is the tallest mountain in the world.

Everest is in the Himalaya Mountains.

Mountains are also cold regions.  

This includes The Rocky Mountains in America, The Alps in Europe and The Himalaya Mountains in Asia.

Mountains in tropical and temperate regions are also very cold.  There are mountains in Nepal and Tibet.

Very high mountains can have snow on top all year.
