Desert

Desert

This desert is sand.  The wind blows the sand.  It makes sand hills called dunes.

Desserts are next to Tropical Climates.  Deserts have very little rain.  Most deserts are very hot and very dry.  Deserts can be sand, rocks or hard mud.

The Saraha is the biggest desert in the world.  It is in Africa.

There are deserts in North and South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, North India, California in America and Australia.

A bar graph with rainfall at 25 cm

Less than 25 cm of rain falls in the desert each year.  Some years there is no rain.

Tall, thin cacti

There is not enough water for many plants to grow in deserts.

Some grass and cacti can live in deserts.

These cacti are like balls.
