Tropical

A thermometer at 25°C

Tropical regions are near the equator.

The sun is strong near the Equator.  The temperature is about 25°C all year.

The Tropics have a lot of rain.

Rainforests grow in tropical climates.  Many animals, birds and plants live in rainforests.

Most people live in forest clearings or on rivers.

There are rainforests in Brazil, Central Africa, Malaysia, Indonesia, Burma and Vietnam.

In some places rain falls at one time of year.  These places have a wet season and a dry season.  South Asia is like this.  The rainy season is called a monsoon.

In other places it rains all year.
