The River Ribble
The Yorkshire Dales

This is the River Ribble.

Rivers start in mountains.  The water comes out of the ground.  This is called a spring.  The start of a river is called the source. 

This wall is called Gavel Gap.  It is near the source of the River Ribble.

The source of the River Ribble is near this wall.  It is in the Yorkshire Dales.

A small river is called a stream.  Streams join together to make a river.  

Jam Syke is a stream.  It will join other streams to make the River Ribble.

This stream is called Jam Syke.

Jam Syke flows down the mountain.

Jam Syke is in the Yorkshire Dales.
