The River Ribble
Lytham

Rivers finish at the sea.  Where the river joins the sea is called an estuary.

The estuary at Lytham

The River Ribble joins the sea at Lytham.  It is on the north of the river.

Here the River Ribble goes into the Irish Sea.  It is 70 miles from source to sea.

Into the Irish Sea

On the north of the estuary is St Anne's.  Southport is on the south.
