The River Ribble
Rathwell

Rathwell is south of Settle.

Near Rathwell

Near Rathwell the river turns like a snake.  This is because the ground is flat.  It is called meandering.

Salley Abbey is on the south of the river.

Salley Abbey

It was built in 1148.  You can see Pendle Hill behind.  Sawley village is nearby.
