People

About 160,000 people live in St Lucia. 

Most people in St Lucia are African.  They speak English.

Most people are Catholic.

Half the people live in towns and half in villages. 

One third of the people live in Castries.

 

 

There is some industry on St Lucia.  They make clothes, electronics, drinks and boxes.  Most are sold to America and the UK. 

Most people work on farms or in services like hotels.

Farms on St Lucia grow bananas, cocoa, vegetables and fruit.  

Most of the bananas are sold to the UK. 

People eat most of the vegetables on the island.

People go on holiday to St Lucia. It has beautiful beaches.  

It has 2 airports in Castries and Vieux Fort.

To fly from London takes 8 hours!
