Henry VII 1485 - 1509

Henry Tudor fought Richard III.  Richard III died at the Battle of Bosworth.  Henry Tudor became the first Tudor king. Rich men called Lords wanted to be king.  Henry VII wanted to stop them.  He made some new laws.  Lords could not build castles or have an army. Henry VII needed money to be a strong king.  He made people pay him taxes.  This money made him rich. Henry VII died in 1509.  His son Henry VIII became king. Back to the Tudor Tree
