This is Henry VIII.  His father was Henry VII.  Henry VIII had 6 wives.

People in England were Catholic.  Henry VIII wanted a divorce. The Pope said no so Henry started a new church.  It was called the Church of England.  Henry was the head of this church so he could get divorced.

Henry VIII built many ships.  He wanted to fight France.  His favourite ship was The Mary Rose.  It was a war ship.  It was built from 1509-1511.  The Mary Rose sank in 1545.
