• Bliss, the special care baby charity, provides vital support and care to premature and sick babies across the UK.
• Contact a Family UK-wide charity providing advice, information and support to the parents of all disabled children.  Includes index of specific conditions and rare disorders. Enables parents to get in contact with other families, both on a local and national basis.

• Meningitis Trust help people practically, emotionally and financially and educate communities about the symptoms of meningitis.

• NDCS National Deaf Children's Society runs local groups and regional weekends for families with a deaf child who has additional needs.  Information on hearing loss, hearing aids, cochlear implants etc.  Free telephone helpline.

• RNIB UK’s leading charity offering information, support and advice to people with sight loss and their families. See sections on Complex Needs.  RNIB run a programme of regional training for parents and professionals.
• Scope The disability organisation in England and Wales whose focus is people with cerebral palsy.  Includes information about the Face 2 Face parent befriending scheme.
