  • Communication Matrix The Communication Matrix is appropriate for individuals of all ages who are at the earliest stages of communication. It covers the range of communication skills which typically develop between 0 and 24 months of age. The Matrix accommodates any type of communicative behavior, including "augmentative and alternative" (AAC) forms of communication and pre-symbolic communication.  The profile shows at a glance what level of communication behaviours a child is using and what kinds of messages he or she expresses. The Communication Skills List shows exactly what behaviours the child uses to express each message.  Very good for non-verbal communication.
  • Project Salute - a resource on tactile learning strategies for working with children who are deaf-blind or blind with additional disabilities.  'What we've learned' includes Information Sheets on cues, sign, symbols and tactile strategies.
  • RNIB publication 'Movement, Sign and Gesture' about sign communication for children who are visually impaired with additional disabilities.  Includes pictures of Canaan Barrie Signs and information about the use of Objects of Reference.  This publication is no longer available online but can be purchased
