Islam symbol 

The Quaran is put on a stand. It is kept in a cloth. This keeps it clean.

The Koran

 This is the Quaran or Koran.  It is written in Arabic.  God is called Allah.  Allah's words cannot be changed.
The Jewish symbol

 
The Torah is kept in a special cupboard called The Ark.

The Torah

 This is the Torah.  It is written in Hebrew.  It is the word of God.

Many Jews have talked about the meaning of the Torah.  These writings are called the Talmud.

The Christian symbol

 
The Bible

The Bible

 This is the Bible.  It is written in many languages.

Guru Granth Sahib The Sikh book is called Guru Granth Sahib.  It is written in Punjabi.  It is the writings of the ten gurus.

 

 The Vedas Hindu's have different writings.  

God's word is written in Sanskrit.  The words cannot be changed.

The other writings are stories.  

Theravada

Pitaka

Buddists read different holy writing.

  •  The Theravada was written on leaves.

  • The Vinaya Pitaka is rules for monks
