Butterflies

A Baltimore Checkerspot Butterfly

This butterfly is a Baltimore Checkerspot.  It lives in wet grasslands and ditches.  It lives in America.

It eats a plant called the Turtlehead.  It lays 100 - 700 eggs under the leaves.  In summer the eggs hatch.  The caterpillars are orange and black.  They eat the leaves.

Wasps eat the caterpillars.
